Sustainability

The goal of Seikkailupuisto Huippu is to offer activities in nature in a sustainable way. We strive to reduce the natural resources used by our operations and to minimize our carbon footprint. We also aim to provide our customers with information on how their own actions can reduce the consumption of natural resources and lower their carbon footprint.

The activities at Seikkailupuisto Huippu take both customers and employees to heights, which creates various risks. We have a safety process for risk management, and Tukes audits our operations annually. We train our employees and customers to operate correctly and safely at heights.

Seikkailupuisto Huippu is an inclusive company. We do not discriminate against customers or employees on the basis of age, ethnic background, language, sexual orientation, or any other factor.

We have received the Sustainable Travel Finland and Green Key recognitions for our responsible work toward sustainable tourism. We work in cooperation with these organizations to further develop Huippu’s operations in an increasingly responsible direction. The certifications are renewed annually and include, among other things, concrete environmental targets that take all aspects of responsibility into account.

Our sustainability goals for 2025:

  • – We encourage our customers to act responsibly by organizing multiple sustainability events. During the season, we held two separate sustainability events where arriving at Huippu by bicycle or public transport allowed participants to get a ticket at the student price.
  • – We are increasing guidance on recycling at Huippu. We trained our employees on educating customers about environmental responsibility and updated the recycling signs on our waste bins.
  • – We are reducing the generation of hazardous waste by acquiring a battery charger. This has been implemented: the battery charger has been purchased so that we can reuse batteries, thereby reducing hazardous waste.

Our sustainability goals for 2026:

  • – Make Huippu more bicycle-friendly by installing bike racks in the park.
  • – Organize “Green Weeks” at the beginning of the upcoming season in May, during which a new way to act more environmentally friendly, considering Huippu’s operations, will be introduced each week.
  • – Reuse wood waste from course maintenance, for example, in the replacement and upkeep of railings.

The label is awarded based on the application and audit report by a Green Key jury, consisting of experts in environmental protection, tourism and accommodation, and corporate responsibility.

There are over 190 Green Key-certified tourism operators in Finland. Globally, Green Key operates in 90 countries, and more than 8,000 sites have received the certification.
